Neutering Campaign
Once a year we arrange for vets to attend a shelter in Greece for 4 days and neuter as many of the cats and dogs as possible. Our next neutering campaign has been arranged for May 2012 and again we must find the funds for this..
May 2011 neutering campaign completed and a very hectic one with only a 3 day visit from Vets Ricky, Pepe and guest vet Linda from Denmark and with word now spreading we had more street/stray animals brought to the shelter this time and at the end of the third day 110 animals had been neutered 65 were street/stray animals stopping hundreds of puppies/kittens being born to a life of misery, 2 tumors removed and 1 front leg amputated, this poor dog had been hit very badly by a car and her leg couldnt be saved. This is why these neutering campaigns are so vital . Please support us and help fund the next neutering campaign, we are already arranging this.

Michele and Tracey Hand feeding 3 week old puppies a litter of 5 dumped with no mother. these lucky ones were found and taken to the Shelter This little soul had just had some antibiotics crushed in Marmalade!! she loved it.
We call him Freddy He came in with a mangled rear leg it was removed and he has adapted very well to 3 legs Lucky Fred has a home waiting in the UK.

Pepe hard at work with a flank spay and 6 young pups recovering from their neutering, it is necessary to neuter pups (if they are big enough) as soon as possible, if we left them until next time they would probably have given birth themselves, yet more misery for more innocent animals.

Once again in 2010 we managed to fund a neutering trip and our wonderful vets saved so many animals from suffering by treating wounds, removing a growth, amputating a leg and neutering 105 dogs/cats on this most recent trip, this means countless puppies/kittens will not be born to suffer. This work is absouloutely vital in the battle to help stop some of the suffering. Please continue to support us.

Shown below is the amazing flank spay, this technic leaves such a small wound that is barely detectable just days later.

un-neutered dogs and cats are the main reason for so many strays in Greece.

Our vets work around the clock spaying as many animals as possible. There are hundreds of animals that need our help and the vets work tirelessly to ensure all the animals are seen and treated.

Please help us continue with these essential visits. We desperately need funds to send the vets out. If you can assist us in any way we would love to hear from you.
We would like to thank our wonderful vets Ricky & Pepe for all their help and support with the Desperate Greekies.
